Kyle (remember him....the guy who wants to know how many kids I want in Sacrament meeting) anyway, Kyle is a total flake. I can't figure out what he wants if he even wants anything at all. So I haven't seen him in a month or 2 and we've texted maybe 2-3 times. I invited him over to hang out by my pool with me and after he was an HOUR late I called and asked him if he was coming or not. He said he had to work late and couldn't make it. Well, I would have appreciated it if he'd called me BEFORE he was late.
Anyway, he texted me 2 nights ago and since he's flakey and doesn't always answer me I ignored him. Give him a taste of his own medicine. Clearly, he didn't like being ignored because yesterday he sent me another text, this time asking if I was alive. I felt bad so I responded but didn't want to come across as TOO eager or available. I get the feeling this guy is more into the chase than anything else. So we text for the next little while, and he is flirting shamelessly. I am not. He asks me to come bail him out of work and I tell him that he's got a car and 2 legs and can get himself out and he doesn't need me to do it. He tells me my pretty face being there would help and I let him know right away that flattery will get him nowhere. It's just words, and I'm smart enough not to fall for it. So he asks me what WILL get him somewhere with me and I let him know. Short and sweet. Just 2 words. My response? "Show up"
Mr. Flakey Pants surely doesn't think I'm sitting around waiting for him. If he wants a chase I'll give him one.
He waited about 3o min before he finally responded. What did he say? "Touche"
Then he stopped texting me. Hours later while I was getting ready for bed I wondered if I'd offended him. But I've come to the conclusion that "the truth hurts." He's a flake. If he wants anything from me (and with his hot and cold behavior it's hard to tell) he's gonna have to work for it. I'm not gonna get all excited and jump every time he texts me. I've got better things to do.
So Kyle, if you're reading this my answer still stands. I'm sick of all your talk. Next time,
Show Up.
