Frustrating

So here's the deal. I've been interested in this guy for a while now, but we're good friends and I don't want to tell him I want to date him for fear of being rejected and making our friendship awkward. I'd much rather keep him as a friend than not. But he's going to be moving from Vegas in the next 6 months or so and I realized recently that I would be unhappy if I let him go without telling him how I feel and/or giving it a shot. Sooo...I've been turning on the charm and stepping up the flirting hoping that he picks up on these hints and asks me out. He's responded to the flirting quite well and begun flirting back which is great and totally encouraging. He hangs out at my house a lot more often but we are rarely alone. Well, last night we were (finally) alone for a couple of hours. And the flirting was absolutely (wonderfully) ridiculous. He texted me this afternoon and made a joke about something we had said last night and I took this is a good sign. So after text flirting back and forth for a bit I told him I was on my way out the door, but if he wanted to hang out later tonight to call me. He said he'd call around 6. Well at 7 I still hadn't heard from him so I texted and asked what the plan was. He said he hadn't heard of anything going on and did me or Jane know of anything. Umm....WHAT? Me OR Jane??? Jane was busy and I had blown my other friends off because he said we'd hang out and now he was turning it into a group thing. I was frustrated and told him I didn't know if anything was going on but if he wanted to hang out with me I would but that I wasn't his social coordinator and all I had to offer was my company. And do you know what he told me!?!? He said if he heard of anything going on he'd call me!!! Can you believe it!?!?! I guess my company wasn't enough. It was enough till 3am last night! I was furious. So I went over to Jane's and we bad mouthed him for a few hours till I felt better. Then of course he called me while I was at Jane's so I sent him to voice mail. Then he texted and said him and a few of his nerdy friends were going to watch a movie at some girls house and I was welcome to go over and join them if I was interested. Uhhh...I think not!
