2nd Chances???

Remember McCutie who quickly turned into a DB? (douche)??? Well, he continues to send me random texts asking if I'm still ignoring him, which I am, and which he gets no response to. But last night he sent one around 9pm asking if I was still ignoring him, which I ignored. But an hour later he sent this: "Look, I screwed-up. I let me get the best of me and screwed-up a good thing. Would love to chat with you again but if not....."
I've been waiting for an "I'm sorry" from him before I'd even consider answering one of his many texts, and I was trying to figure out if this counted, even though the actual words weren't there. I decided the intent was the same, or at least headed in that direction, so I wrote him back. I called him out on being a jerk and he said I was right and he was sorry, and felt terrible and wished he had handled things differently and would I be his friend, at least. Um...I'm not sure. I told him I'd have to think about it. I don't know if I can trust him after this. But he HAS been texting a lot and he finally did apologize and even complemented me on my cleverness with the pink shirt and carefully worded note.
So, the question is.....do I forgive him and say we can be friends again, or do I forgive him and tell him I appreciate that he has apologized and taken responsibility for his douchiness, but that I can't be his friend????
