The Set Up

At a party this week I was being harassed by my buddy Darin. Darin is not Caucasian. He was teasing me about only dating white boys which is SO not true! (what I'm SURE he MEANT to say is that I don't date HIM. Geez...) I told him I had a fondness for Pacific Islanders which are CLEARLY not white boys. So he asked for an example. So I gave him one. I didn't know his name, but there is a might fine looking guy in the Vegas valley that I've seen around at various YSA activities. He's tall, dark, and EXTREMELY handsome. Think, ummm...like a Samoan Tyson Beckford....I know right!?!? SO cute! So anyway I started to describe this guy and Darin immediately knew I was talking about Koa. Sooo Darin gets all excited because he knows Koa. Now, I've never actually met Koa, I've just seen him around of know of him but I know if he asked me on a date I sure wouldn't turn him down!

So a few days later Darin sends me a text message. He (without my knowledge or permission) Facebooked Koa, asked if he was single, sent him my picture, and told him I thought he was hot. So Koa sent a message back to Darin and I got THIS text message at 11pm last night: " I was hanging out on the other side of town tonight and guess what? Koa is totally down to go on a date with you! I just shoot him a FB msg & showed him ur pic. He's always down to go out on a date."

I'm not sure what to do with this information, or how things are going to play out from this point. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a wee bit excited, but I'm also irritated Darin went behind my back and did all this. It is more than slightly reminiscent of high school...is it not?
